It is a rare treat when I can simultaneously show off the best shower ever and my adorable (or so I proclaim) cuddle rolls all at one go. This was at the Tofino Hot Springs cove last summer.

The photo may be sweet but did the title catch your attention? I hope it did.

Remember a few weeks back when I wrote all about water and how I love to bits drinking my fresh Spring Water? We often get so caught up in the water that we drink, that we forget about the water we are bathing in every single day.

For those of you have joined our 21 Days To Health Challenge, no matter where you are at in it, you likely skipped ahead and noticed the bit where you’re supposed to cut out caffeine.

Now, before you start asking all kinds of questions about whether caffeine is really so bad for you, I will say Yes, yes it is.

Caffeine, unless taken up the bum (yes, that’s what I said), will work against each and every one of your physical, and emotional goals. You can read all about it here, but to summarize:

Happy Monday!

What a delicious weekend it was. I had a Saturday off! This rarely happens and so what did I do with it? I made our fave Super French Toast breakfast, did laundry, went for a massage and created the most delectable Deluxe Stress Busting latte recipe there ever was with all of my favourite stress busting herbs, foods and magic potions. The recipe and video are coming tomorrow!

For now, the info and best stress busting regiment there ever was.

This has been my mantra for the week (illustrated by this sweet artist).

And it’s true too. I can feel it! Now I just wait, as impatiently as is characteristic of me, to see the goodness that will surely unfold.

Since last Tuesday, when I had the great fortune of experiencing the preciousness of life (in an auto accident where a tank-like SUV plowed my little car into oncoming traffic), I have been graced with many things. Allow me to explain.

Guest Post by Kerry Helston, author of Mercury In My Mouth

More and more of us are starting to see how great we can feel when we switch on, feed ourselves wholesome and nourishing foods, possibly even cleanse our bodies and rid our house of toxic products. But what happens when we have a constant source of pollution and toxins sitting right in our mouths? It’s pretty likely that your dentist didn’t tell you (because they don’t have to), but those silver fillings you have in your mouth, they actually contain about 50% mercury by weight.

Yesterday I introduced you to one type of doctor. Now let’s meet another!

In December, when I had the pleasure of holidaying with my family in Jamaica, we met an herbal medicine man named Charlie who took us on a tour of some local herbs. Not THAT herb… the healing kind. The OTHER kind of healing. Come on now!

I was well overdue for my annual check up with my doctor. We’re talking about 18 months past the annual check up date. Finding a doctor was no easy task for me, so I settled on one that made up for her lack of open mindedness with being really nice. My doctor is really, really nice. That’s kind of it though.

Going to the doctor for me is a bit of a field trip into The Land Of Different. Everything about how they operate is different to how I run my health practice. But I always, always, always go with an open mind, hoping for the best.

La la di dah di dah daaaaaah!

That is the sound of joy in my tummy. Raise your hand if you always thought it odd that recipes called for one single bay leaf. I did, so I always put two or sometimes really throw caution to the wind and used three. Now, on that sweet sacred island that I like to call St. Lucia, where I spent the last month collecting most of my meals from the fields that surround the gorgeous Balenbouche Estate where I held my retreats, these leaves of wonder literally grow on trees.

Brooke is my partner in Power for our February 26th Power Party. While she was over here and we were planning the event, I got curious about this sweet Ms. Brooke and put her on the spot, asking if I could interview her about how she came to find this amazing dance fun. This is our conversation…

It should come as no surprise to you at this point that as I child, I may have been known to get dressed up in costumes and do rather elaborate lip syncing performances. That song Otto Titsling from Beaches (above), was part of my usual repertoire. Thank goodness my parents weren’t so tech savvy. I feel great pity for the kiddies who get their odd-kid stuff captured on digital.

Finally! A cancer fundraiser that actually sort of makes some sense. Mushrooms Canada did a fundraiser in October to help raise money for the Breast Cancer Society of Canada to support research for the prevention, early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

A fundraiser that makes sense… sort of.

Dr. Michael Murray Is On My Team

Last year at the National Holistic Nutrition Conference I had the opportunity to chill with the silver fox himself, Elson Hass. Now if Elson Haas is a silver fox, than Dr. Michael Murray is just a fox. Seriously. He is one handsome and healthy man. My guess was that he rang in at around 42. I was a full decade off. Now I don’t tell you this to undermine his credibility. If anyone deserves the utmost credibility in the field of natural medicine it is Dr. Michael Murray. It is simply a whole lot easier to follow the health advice of healthy looking people and he embodies this supremely. Having scientific data to back up his claims is simply low-glycemic icing on that protein-rich cake.

Becoming Who I Needed To Meet

For the past month, I have been up to my frizzy bangs in work on the Digestive Healing Retreat. The weekend went off magically well with our small and sweet group. This will definitely not be the last time that Josh and I join forces to present this info.
