This morning my darling two-year old daughter, sweet little Mia, ate a breakfast that consisted of almonds, strawberries, homemade pumpkin muffin and a green-berry smoothie that had strawberries, blueberries, kale, and hemp seeds in it. Sounds wonderful, right? I’d love to be able to say that Mia’s eating habits just happened, but as any parent would know – it took a lot of work, perseverance and little person tears. Along the way I have learned some important lessons that not only apply to instilling healthy and nourishing eating habits in my kid, but to overall parenting.

Meet Team Green Smoothie

What? Did you think I did all this alone? Really? Nope. No I don’t. I have a slow growing team and these ladies, my right and left hand super stars are my absolute life savers. I have three main addictions in my life that I constantly working to break free of. I have a whole post about this tomorrow but my three biggest challenges are (in no particular order) my addiction to perfection, an incredibly struggle to relinquish any control and a stubbornness when it comes to asking for help. Sound familiar, my dear sweet health blog readers? I know I am not alone here, just few of us like to acknowledge this.

For someone who lives on fast food and beer, a Green Smoothie Cleanse would probably be torturous… for the first time. It might still be rough the second and third time too. But things would start to change. That garbage food would stop tasting very good. He might even start to notice how his energy levels are affected when he eats whole food versus unprocessed food. He might notice his skin look clearer, his eyes get brighter, his bathroom habits become more… um… regular. He might wake-up before noon and (gasp) want to be active!

The Green Smoothie Formula

There are a few of my sweetest of sweet beet green wishes as you prepare for tomorrow. Can’t wait to get on this! Though it can be tough to wrap your head around drink green drinks for the next three days, the lightness you will feel as the crappola flushes out is a nice little perk to the process. Though not always easy at the time, stick with it and the results will surely inspire.

It is just about the 1 year anniversary of when I first launched the 3 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse Program. I have been taking a walk down memory lane and came across this post, written just over a year ago. Looking back on my smoothies then, I am pretty pleased that despite how super powered my smoothies used to be, I continue to take them further as time goes on. It’s a little reminder for us all that we have to work with where we’re at and just keep moving ahead step by step.
