Happy Friday my fair ladies (and man or two). April is supposed to be my month of taking time off and I am pretty sure I have been busier this week than ever. There is so much buzz and excitement over the new tutorial so that is wickedly fantabulous. In case you haven’t downloaded your copy yet, you can do so here.
Monday night, I rocked it out with my great friend, life coach Jennifer Schramm for our full house group who joined us to Fuel Their Lives. Tuesday and Wednesday I spent the afternoons chatting at The Institutue of Holistic Nutrition, the school I went to, about branding and business and other fun things and then Wednesday night…. oh Wednesday night I freaked myself right out by hosting my first ever live streaming TV show.

Three things are for sure.
1. If it weren’t for David Wolfe I am pretty sure I wouldn’t have been able to identify this as a pod of chocolate in the Caribbean Rain Forest
2. If it weren’t for David Wolfe, I am pretty sure Josh and I wouldn’t have gone Mushroom hunting in the Northern Ontario woods in the middle of Winter
3. David Wolfe’s party tricks are so much better than mine. He drinks honey.
That’s right. Straight from the jar. Now all week, you may have been participating in the challenge with me- the challenge of going 5 Days Low Glycemic Eating. We crave sugar for many reasons. Commonly though, the reasons have to do with adrenal fatigue and our addiction to the powerful stress chemicals released by our adrenal glands when our blood sugar plummets. Often our cravings for sweets have to so with little critters that are in our body. Perhaps they are yeasts, perhaps they are other forms of bad bacteria, or maybe, just maybe, they are something commonly referred to as ‘parasites’. There I said it. I’m allowed to say it. David Wolfe is not. Ask him about that sometime if you ever have the chance.

Oh this is exciting!
This is not the tutorial I had planned on writing. Well, yes, it was on my list but it was not my plan to have this be the next one. But see, what happened was that I was having so much fun planning my Healing with Superfoods Workshop and all the experimenting that was going on in my kitchen, that I decided this was the next one that was due. And so here it is. Well not totally here. It will be available for purchase starting next Thursday, April 1st.

It is true that 5 Days Low Glycemic Eating challenge starts today and of course it is not too late to join. It is never too late to join because 4 days is better than none and 1 day is better than none and 1 meal is better than none. Every bit counts.
As I wind down my Winter teaching with my last workshop today (sold out Natural Body Care!), and the last class of my 6-week cooking program on Thursday, I have a few events coming up in April but mostly I get to attend them. I am taking the month to work on a few programs and go back to class- so-to speak. I can only keep offering knew knowledge and info as long as I keep aquiring new knowledge and info. I am gearing up to Fuel My Life! I hope you’ll join me at some of them. See reading about stuff is great, experiencing it is even better and sometimes we need to make a little investment to get out from behind our computers and live and learn in real life with other people. Can’t wait!

Chaga mushroom. King of all the mushrooms. Maybe even king of all the land.
I first learned of these mushrooms last summer when I was kicking it Raw In The Woods with David Wolfe. I have since eaten loads, been intrigued, read heaps and finally made the time to escape up into the woods with my snow shoes, a knife and a trusty (and well informed) side-kick to hunt for some of these here bad boys.
This video from Daniel Vitalis revealed what we needed to know.

I love Valentine’s Day. Now, it is not because I have some romantic notion of what Valentine’s Day means, and I was never one of those girls that had a boyfriend on Valentine’s Day who always knew just what to do, got me a sweet gift, lit some candles, made me dinner or any of [...]

Cacao, how I love you. If you have been reading me for some time, you know that there have been many an affectionate song, sung about the benefits of raw cacao beans. Remember these goodies: Raw Hot Chocolate For Breakfast Chocolate or Sex? David Wolfe: Living High with Chocolate For Breakfast My Chocolate Sol Obviously, [...]

I could go on and on about the benefits of raw cacao but I still don’t think I would do it justice. Now don’t go confusing raw cacao with roasted cocoa. Different my friends- mainly because one is raw. It seems that roasting or cooking chocolate excites the nervous system, speeding up the pulse similar to the effects caused by black coffee. Raw cacao however doesn’t do this.
Now my recipe uses a whole heaping load of super foods that may be hard to find. Not to worry. Chocolate is the main event, the rest are just power house encores.

I’ll admit that I much preferred my time with David Wolfe when I was make-up free, hair un-straightened and we were both kicking it bare-foot in the woods. It is possible I wanted to see David speak again, if only to find out whether he would be barefoot in December, in the city, but when this man speaks, thoughts of shoes are forgotten as his audience gets high vibed by his real raw, energy. Thoughts of almost anything else are replaced by the magical life that David Wolfe lives, one that consists of chocolate for breakfast, hunting for water from the purest sources, and munching on mushrooms that have the power to cure, heal and rock your world. That, my dear chocolate lovers, is the inspiration that is raw super-star-super-foodist David Wolfe.
