How I love these ladies? Let me count the ways… Oh wait. I can’t, ’cause I can’t count that high. Amy and Kim Sedgwick are the founders of the amazing town shop, The Red Tent Sisters, which, I think functions more as a super woman sexual empowerment education community centre. The best bit is that they aren’t going to throw toxic lubes in your face (that would probably burn your eyes anyway) and the latest and greatest plastic leaching personal vibrational loving device either. They keep it totally eco, clean and kind.

I have been a busy little Wonder Woman flying all over the city meeting and greeting what has grown and developed to become my very own, amazingly Super-Powered Superhero Team. Going on my own experience, recommendations, chance encounters, sweet tweeters and a few undercover agents, the gang over here at The Love In The Kitchen Headquarters has pulled together what can only be described as the World’s Greatest Superhero Posse There Ever Was! Or at least they are my greatest Superhero Posse.

Guess what?

Give up? Well, let me tell you. I have been working my patooties off with a fine gent over in the Northern England region to get a new bit of my website up and running. Nick Toye and I have been working together for a few months now as we revamp and revise some of the functionality on the biz side of my website. Now, if all goes as planned, the new goods will be launched this weekend… at least I think that’s the plan. With Nick’s mucky Northern England accent I really haven’t a clue what he’s been saying all this time (joking, we communicate by email). A good developer is tough to find, and I found this dream come true via Twitter.

Have you met the amazing Jen yet? If you haven’t, that means you haven’t yet ventured over to the Love In The Kitchen Academy. Jen is running that show! She is, all at once, my right and left hand lady and has been now since November.

Jen worked as my intern last February and March and kind of fell in love with me. Okay- maybe it wasn’t me, maybe it was that I invited her to run wild in my kitchen, play and eat to her heart’s content and I never said no when she asked to mop the floor after a class. She loves to be tidy. So in addition to being my right and left hand lady, she is also like a walking sponge- taking up info and cleaning up mess! Whenever I spill (which is often!), she is ready for the disaster that always follows my time in the kitchen.

2nd Last Brunch

As you may be aware, I wrote a good portion of my blog before I even left for St. Lucia. As you may also be aware, being able to spend a month here, part work and part play, is my absolute dream come true. Have you been reading my behind the scenes interview?

Are You Ready For Health?

You are! You are for sure!!!

We all know that creating a super powered community around healthy living is the surest way to:

1. Make it stick
2. Make it fun
3. Make us not feel like total and complete social outcasts.

This is why the “group” component of my group coached programs, using my eBooks as a guide to follow, is so flippin’ fun and equally important, so deliciously effective and sustainable.

I spent New Year’s Day at a smoothie party where we feasted on collard wraps and super smoothies and elixirs. It was awesome, especially after a night known for indulgence and boozing, to share a lazy afternoon with like minded peeps. It is rather insane that it is more socially acceptable to smoke cigarettes than drink raw chocolate drinks. It is strange that we feel people need convincing to ‘eat healthy’, which seems like it should be the only way people should want to eat, or that being the ‘healthy one’ becomes the hindrance when friends and family are putting together a menu for a meal.

Meet Team Green Smoothie

What? Did you think I did all this alone? Really? Nope. No I don’t. I have a slow growing team and these ladies, my right and left hand super stars are my absolute life savers. I have three main addictions in my life that I constantly working to break free of. I have a whole post about this tomorrow but my three biggest challenges are (in no particular order) my addiction to perfection, an incredibly struggle to relinquish any control and a stubbornness when it comes to asking for help. Sound familiar, my dear sweet health blog readers? I know I am not alone here, just few of us like to acknowledge this.

What do Luna Bars and elephants in captivity have in common? Keep reading. Last weekend at the Yoga Show, as a participant in the Seane Corn Detox Flow Workshop, I received a gift bag and inside were two food items: a box of Triscuits (which I left with the gift bag girls) and the item [...]

As my yogini goddess friend (and the delight who lead my Dominica Yoga retreat) Jenn,  pointed out on her blog, there was just the Aries full moon in Libra.  Jenn explains: “It is now a time to liberate yourself from what you think others expect from you or what you think you need to be [...]

Many of you were very very close on this one. What amazed me is how many of you guessed an Yves brand product. I assumed (wrongly) that most people who ate Vyes products, didn’t know how synthetic and chemical they were. I, personally, do not trust the labelling on Yves products after I ate their [...]
