Fuel Your Life With These Awesome Events

It is true that 5 Days Low Glycemic Eating challenge starts today and of course it is not too late to join. It is never too late to join because 4 days is better than none and 1 day is better than none and 1 meal is better than none. Every bit counts.

As I wind down my Winter teaching with my last workshop today (sold out Natural Body Care!), and the last class of my 6-week cooking program on Thursday, I have a few events coming up in April but mostly I get to attend them. I am taking the month to work on a few programs and go back to class- so-to speak. I can only keep offering knew knowledge and info as long as I keep aquiring new knowledge and info. I am gearing up to Fuel My Life! I hope you'll join me at some of them. See reading about stuff is great, experiencing it is even better and sometimes we need to make a little investment to get out from behind our computers and live and learn in real life with other people. Can't wait!

I Get An Idea and You Get Healthy

Okay… fine, I am like a spinning wheel of ideas. The ideas I have relate to what I want to create in the kitchen, how I want to decorate my new cargo bicycle trailer, silly outfits and blog post ideas. I also have ideas that affect other people’s business- whether it [...]

That's what the docs like to call it. I like to call it a recipe for having your colon removed, your blood sugar to shoot through the roof, nutritional deficiency to ensue, and likely followed shortly by further impaired immune function and increased risk disease and/or complications from current health challenges.

Lower The Load and Still Eat Cookies

A week without cookies is like a week without sunshine. We just can’t have that! Just because, come Sunday, we are going 5 Days Low Glycemic, doesn’t mean we can’t get creative with a few foods that, when combined, make up some kick-booty treats. Like these here little coconut ditties.
Last week, I was indulging a [...]

Lower The Load to Balance The Hormones and Reduce The Muffin Top

Not too long ago, I quietly updated my Lunar Cycle Tutorial to add in some vital information which I overlooked in the first and shorter edition. This bonus info is about how our eating affects not only our general mood stability but explains that how we eat affects our hormones on a biochemical level. That's right ma'ladies. The foods you choose to snack on, indulge in regularly or perhaps even make whole meals out of might be contributing to your PMS symptoms and the muffin top many of us past the age of 25 have to funk with.

Lower the Load, Funk the Fat and Ditch The Skinny Jeans

It means longer days, warmer weather and that every lamp post in my young urban hippie neighbourhood becomes plastered with signs for boot camp classes. Last week I received an email with the subject line "Get In To Your Skinny Jeans This Spring", and I thought, Hmmm. No. This booty and my five foot tall self wasn't intended to wear skinny jeans so why on earth would I torture myself for six weeks, so that I might fit into them briefly until my body goes back to the size and shape it likes best, which is exactly how it is right now.

Lower The Load To Help Prevent Cancer

Uh oh? Is it too early in the week to get a little serious about our health? Never!

Cancer.

Who the hell isn't afraid of it? It's one of those creeper diseases that we don't truly understand in so many cases, but that seems to pop into our lives and those we love most, when we least expect it.

Is it possible to prevent it 100%? Of course not! Is anything 100% in this sweet perfect world? Nope. That's what makes life the sweet adventure with all the ups and downs. These are my thoughts on the matter.

When I was sick with Crohn's, Colitis, IBS or whatever the doctor I was currently seeing wanted to call it, I wanted to do everything I could to make it go away. Once I got well, I wanted to do everything I could to keep it gone away. I figured, once I knew what worked for me to heal and maintain remission, why on earth would I want to jeopardize that for some silly little craving for salty buttered popcorn or toasted bagels and butter? The way I saw it, it would totally bite the big one if I got sick all over again and knew, in my heart, that there were things I did that fully contributed to a recurrence of the disease.

Digestive Healing Weekend Retreat

Guess whatskees?!?!?!

It's official that my main man, and the best nutritionist I know, Josh Gitalis, and I are working on our first program together. On the lovely summer weekend of June 25th - June 27th we are inviting you out of the city and into some sweet country side paradise to heal, rest, rejuvenate and have some sweet time to yourself.

The weekend, is jam packed with nutrition sessions aimed at healing all manner of digestive challenges and also working towards attaining and remaining remission. This retreat is great for people who may currently be suffering from digestive challenges, who have undergone surgical stuff and for those who are just looking for alternate solutions to what modern medicine has declared for them.

How Low Can You Go… Again!?!?!

It's that time again my sweet mood stable, sweet-tooth in check readers. We are going 5 Days Low Glycemic Eating starting March 21st. Are you in? I saaaaaaaaid, Are you in?!?!?!

There are a few things I want to share with you before you make your decision. The first is this feedback I received from peeps who have been using my tutorials with delicious success:

Hi Meghan,
I wanted to write you a quick note because two of your guides (5day vegan and 5day low glycemic) have proven invaluable yet again. My mom developed diabetes recently, and unfortunately found out about it as a result of experiencing deterioration in her vision. She never had a sweet tooth, does not drink alcohol, is not obese etc, so this came as a shock. I realized I had your guides on my trusty USB drive. I printed them out and we went over them together - they were super useful.

No, no, no. Now don’t go saying how lucky I am. I am pretty sure it all comes down to a clean and balanced diet, lots of water, good fats, no dairy or sugar, lungsful of fresh air, a lack of toxic product pile-up and no glunky chunky make-up. Yep- I have [...]
