I work to support your health, and to help you make changes to increase your health. I do this with lightness, humour and hopefully in a practical way that makes it easy for you to incorporate the changes into your life.

The glycemic index is a ranking for foods, predominantly the carbohydrate monsters on a scale. The glycemic index ranks carbohydrates to the extent to which they raise blood sugar levels after eating. Foods with a high GI are those that are rapidly digested and absorbed and result in marked fluctuations in blood sugar levels. Why should you care? Abusing our insulin in this way, riding the waves of sugar and the resulting adrenaline that helps keep us going, means we ride high and crash into puddles of crankiness, irritability, complete exhaustion, sweet cravings, excess weight gain and maybe tears should it we be blown in that direction.

The Adrenaline Lunch
Recorded live at a corporate presentation in November 2009.
Lecture Outline: Skipping meals or eating quick lunches (and often breakfasts and dinners) of quick convenience foods may seem like the simplest and cheapest option at the time but there are big prices to pay. Riding through our day on adrenaline impacts all aspects of our life, from how we relate and respond to each other, to how well we can think, to our energy levels and ultimately on our short term and long term physical health. This session explains what is going on when we indulge in the adrenalin lunch and offers easy solutions to get off that ride.

The challenge however is that so many people have forgotten (or maybe never knew) how easy and delicious these foods can be. The purpose of this 5 Day Vegan program is not to convert you to being 100% vegan. The idea and intention behind it was simply to ease a transition to healthier way of eating, to introduce you to new foods. I am simply attempting to open your eyes (stomach, taste buds and likely bowels) to a new way of eating, for a short time. You can than take what you like of it, leave what you don’t and still get the benefit. In most cases (I said most) doing something a little bit, is better than not doing it all. More…

Lunar Cycle: Natural Hormonal Balancing
We are affected by the moon. Our moods and emotions tend to peak when the moon is full. This means if we feel bad, it is exaggerated and if we feel good- that too peaks. The worst time to be experiencing PMS symptoms and the onset of our period is at the full moon. Everything is felt that much more strongly. The time of new moon, today, we have an inherently more inward focused, calmer energy which makes things a little easier to bear. Ideally this is when we should be getting the visitor.

There is no single cleanse or cleansing product that is just right for everyone. I do believe, however, that this here 3-day green smoothie cleanse is very balanced, very gentle and the absolute best way to ease yourself into a cleansing practice whether you are new to cleanses or fasts, have been doing them for years, or are overcoming or working on a health challenge. Only benefit can come from a cleanseing regime that prodivdes amazingly high nutrient density and sufficient caloric intake in a highly absorbable and easily digestible manner requiring minimal digestive energy.
