(airing on Cosmo TV) came back to the kitchen for a visit. Remember the last time he was here? I flirted my heart out with him and it seemed he wanted to come back for more. On the menu were our kitchen fave veggie rice wraps with almond dipping sauce and our conversation quickly went off course. One moment we're talking flaccid cucumber and the next we chatted 'poo juice' and how pooping makes us pretty. Watch my love sweet lovers. Watch, laugh and learn. I often have a tough time watching myself on TV- but this clip even had me giggling. The peeps at Cosmo did a superfantab job of this segment and now I will just wait by the phone to see if I get called for a magical third date with Wilder.

This time, we were talking detoxing.

But so does re-fried beans and this is so much better, but tastes the same. I think. I don’t actually think I’ve ever had refried beans but you could definitely use this recipe in place of refried beans in your favourite layered dip or burrito. That’s right, we’re taking this miso hummus to mexico!

Of course, a first harvest of the season is not complete without wild leeks, also known as 'ramps'. This was our first foray into the land of wild leeks and was it ever exciting for two nerdy nutritionists!

There is great power in the first fresh local foods of the season. These mighty little things are the first to spring forth from the earth after the deep freeze of Winter. And wouldn't you know it, they also provide so much of what our body needs to cleanse from the Winter build-up. One nutrient of note, is quercitin. You have heard of this before.

It started up again after that event I went to a few weeks back and sampled some of the best Kale chips of my life. I have since been trying all kinds of different, delicious toppings and every single one has been a delicious hit. I have realized that you can pretty much put any thing on these awesome, dry them out and voila- you have the perfect crunchy delicious and oh so healthy substitute for chips.

So consider this Way Two of Kale Chips 5 Ways. You can find Way One here and the rest will be following over the coming weeks. To tantalize your taste buds- we've got an Asian Macrobiotic Sesame chip, A Sour Cream and Onion (with neither sour cream, nor onion) and a Spicey Nacho Cheese (again- no nachos or cheese). And wow are they all fantastic and if you are free this Sunday, you can sample one of the many awesome varieties I have been coming up.
