I don’t know about you, but in the last three days, what I found the toughest on the Green Smoothie Cleanse was putting all these fresh, organic veggies into the blender without being able to crunch their goodness. My first meal post cleanse is a salad. I am transitioning out, as I went in which [...]

A 12-Grain Program

Liz emailed me about a month ago with a proposal that I just couldn’t refuse. Despite never having met before, she chose me to help her out with this challenge. Liz gives her reasons here and needless to say, I was flattered.

A couple of weeks ago, I took a little a weekend jaunt to Chicago to celebrate my 29th birthday. I went prepared with some organic apples hidden in my luggage to have as end-of-day/pre-dinner hotel room snack. As I’ve mentioned, even out and about in the city, my friend Jay and I had a challenge [...]

Blueberry jam on a slice of old cheddar. Yes, it may sound positively disgusting, but it is one of my most favourite things. Unfortunately, I had to give both up a few years ago because of health reasons- the jam because of the sugar and the cheese because of, well, because it was cheese. Having [...]

I was on the phone with my friend Vanessa, yesterday as I was pulling a fresh batch of cookies from the oven. She asked if I had a new and improved cookie recipe. Of course I do.  I love cookies and so over the last couple of years, my cookie recipe has evolved. I have [...]

Oh black licorice. Black licorice is one of those candies like rosewater flavoured Thrills gum; a flavour we either love or we hate. There is no middle ground. Black licorice has an odd nostalgic connection for my family. My dad’s grandfather owned a general store in Council Bluffs, Iowa where he stocked all sorts of [...]
