When Lisa forced these bad-boys upon me, I had no choice. She calls this bullycycling. It’s recycling by way of bullying someone to take your crap.

I took her crap in the form of these kicks. Here’s the thing…

I put them on when I got home because I wanted to see if I could cute them up at all. They are afterall now mine, and also wonderfully eco-friednly shoes. Part of The Be Collection by Naot, they are their environmentally friendly line that uses natural materials including vegetable tanned leathers, hand-stitched stroble construction, removable anatomic cork/latex footbed, and a biodegradable latex sole.

I guess it’s insane, if you take a step back, to see that we’re hearing that we need to consume more in order to reduce our impact. Buy green. Try this. Throw this out. Never use that. Replace it now. Nope, that was wrong, now do this.

So many products and services are now being marketed as “green”. Aside from not having real purpose, they may not in fact really be green, they may just be marketed that way, or, they may just be completely unnecessary. Even some toxic cleaning chemicals on shelves have a green certification. Of course, it’s the company’s own certification, and it’s parallel to potato chips saying “reduced fat” on the bag; sure, it’s better, but it’s still not healthy and certainly not as low fat as an organic apple, or nothing at all!

This is how I start my day. For real lovers. Even with all the healthy living I was doing down in St. Lucia and with the amount that I travel, it’s my green juice, not my bed, that I am excited to come home to.

What’s the different between a juice and a smoothie? Well, a juice has all the pulp removed. This is a great thing when, what you’re juicing are low glycemic greens- not such a good thing if you are juicing just fruits. Green juice is like a bath for your insides. First thing in the morning, I slurp down about a litre of pure power!

Oh my sweet mommas! It has been a while since I was this excited for an event. Maybe not since my St. Lucia retreat (which sadly will be ending in 2 days). So because I knew I’d be in a funk when the fun in the sun came to an end, I had to bring in some sunshine. That sunshine is coming in the form of the Groove Master trainer herself, Ms. Brooke Yanzte.

One of the challenges in our 21 Days To Health program is to eliminate and/or reduce the use of daily cosmetic or personal care products in favour of a safer, more natural ones. In my post last week, I asked the question about What Stinks In My Panty Hose where I question how I could still smell a perfume in a pair of tights, seven years later. An interesting discussion came up as the Question that day was about what product is the toughest to give up or change.

Well if Okra as a top post was a massive surprise, this one is the complete opposite. Kale chips have enticed the main stream over to the green and leafy side for a while now. And this is the best way to eat it for sure!

It is just about the 1 year anniversary of when I first launched the 3 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse Program. I have been taking a walk down memory lane and came across this post, written just over a year ago. Looking back on my smoothies then, I am pretty pleased that despite how super powered my smoothies used to be, I continue to take them further as time goes on. It’s a little reminder for us all that we have to work with where we’re at and just keep moving ahead step by step.
