Don’t Miss Out On This Goodness

Just arrived my love sweet lovers! Our Creed Posters! You’ve been asking, we got making, printing, shipping (ok receiving) and then loving. You have been asking me for ages when my book was coming out. And kept saying, when the time is right.

The time my fair lady and gent lovers is now and I have you to thank for it. So THANK YOU!

The contract has been signed and I am soon to be a published author!

As you have come to know me, you know that I don’t play by the rules. I don’t follow diets, my recommendations don’t fall into any dietary group like vegan or veg or macro. The only rule really is to keep it light and fun.

It was this approach that you supported from the beginning- over three years ago when I began my biz and my blog. It was this approach that saw you loving to bits my first ebooks and cooking classes. And it was this approach that landed me the sweetest of dedicated, enlightened, open, intelligent and inspiring readers in the whole wide world. Every day, your comments on this blog, on Facebook and on Twitter keep me inspired to keep on breaking rules in an attempt to help all who wish, to achieve abundant health in their own lives.

It’s all fine and well for me to dance in my kitchen, create recipes, write about them and host cooking classes and retreats. But without you showing up for it all, none of this could be happening.

It is time to meet our great and bigger team. We’re growing over here and with this amazing group of people, so far we seem to be side-stepping the pains that can often come with it. You all know (and I’m sure) love Ms. Jen by now, with all her amazing info and her generously skilled hand at keeping me afloat when I take on enough to drown us both.

My love sweet lover sometimes refer to my rock star assistant Jen as my little fish (also known as Flipper).

Now isn’t this just the most brilliant thing I have come up with since last Friday’s chocolate covered kale chips.

For Passover last week, my momma made a great big beautiful dinner. The main event however was a turkey and I’m not a huge turkey lover. I am well trained in going to other’s homes for dinner and my approach is always to make something super-powered delicious and that can be enjoyed by other guests too of course. So I made these!

Remember my lovers when I talked about wanting to eat foods that could back-flip and stand on end? Well that, in essence is what raw food power is about. It is referring to the act of eating foods that give us more energy than it drains away, foods that fuel the tank rather than empty it. Raw food power, in essence, is what we need most of all, right now, in the heart of this thing we call winter.

Last November, I ran my first trial run of my Raw Food Power class and it filled to the brim. It was for sure my fave class because it really gets to the heart of the magical powers of foods and how they can heal and build us up to our max potential- not just in health, but in life.

Oh my sweet mommas! It has been a while since I was this excited for an event. Maybe not since my St. Lucia retreat (which sadly will be ending in 2 days). So because I knew I’d be in a funk when the fun in the sun came to an end, I had to bring in some sunshine. That sunshine is coming in the form of the Groove Master trainer herself, Ms. Brooke Yanzte.

I know, I know. You like to read the blog while you sip your morning tea, or eat your breakie or when you sit down at your desk at work. I get it. But not today I’m afraid. Today you have to come back here at 10:45. At 10:45 this morning there will be loads of goodness. All the goodness in fact that I cooked up on the Marilyn Denis show this morning.

See you at 10:45ish.

Parsley Hummus with Kale Chips

Can we agree that it is a known fact that every time we go to the store, we tend to buy the same things each time- our staple goods? Often these are things that we know we could make but for whatever reason, over and over again, we fall into the habit of just buying it. No more mis amigos/amigas. We are gonna start doing it from scratch, or at least those of you who make it to Day 20 of the 21 Days To Health challenge.

Now, before I can start reflecting back on all that was in 2010, I am busy looking ahead to all that is coming my way. In an effort to organize my life, I have made a schedule. Since I did this all for myself so that I would know where I had to be and [...]

Im-Pressed with CBC’s Metro Morning

For those of you not in Canada, CBC is kind of a big deal broadcaster here. This morning, I was called in for a wee little segment on the morning show Metro Morning. We talked Dandelions See, Ontario recently banned the use of pesticides and peeps don’t know what to do with them and so [...]

I make no secret or excuses about my love for the sunshine. The other night over dinner, my gentleman caller inquired as to what I would be called if I weren’t called Meghan. Despite people’s tendency to call me Rachel when they don’t know my name (I think it’s the Jewess thing), I would go with Sunshine. I fear for the future of my unconceived children.

The point being I love the sun and sun bathing and it would take a massive hole in the ozone directly above me and being buck-naked at high noon for me to put any kind of sunblock on. Has sunscreen helped reduce rates of skin cancer? Nopers. Is it nearly impossible to find a safe rated sunscreen? It sure is. This leads me to believe it’s best to avoid using it as much as possible. Now, if you are in a situation where you will be exposed to a load of rays mid-afternoon, cover up and be sensible. But think about these things:
