I have been just about bursting at the seams over excitement wanting to share with you every last sweet detail of our forthcoming FIRST EVER online course. We had so much fun around the kitchen getting our outline together for the course, deciding what recipes to include, what would be part of the wicked awesome meal plan and then of course planning and prepping out each and every one of the 20 videos. Deciding what course would be the first, well that was easy. We did have nine to choose from and every one of those nine that I have been teaching over the last four years will soon make their way into video form too. For the first one, we had to go with the one we get the most demand for.

We know you love our classes (checked out the fall semester yet?) but we are THRILLED to see Travel To Wellness magazine picked the Love in the Kitchen Academy as one of the Top 10 Best Cooking Classes in Toronto. Yipeeeeeeee! How exciting. We are flattered..and blushing. And all the fun things that come along with a sweet, sweet compliment such as that. You can read the whole awesome write up right here. (Also- check out this article I wrote for Travel to Wellness a little while back that is very seasonally appropriate: “8 Wellness Things to do in Toronto”)

Happy weekend, lovers! Yesterday, I announced I would be releasing the first of MANY fully supported, online video courses for you my sweet peeps. I wanted to fully re-create the experience SO many of you have written to me about wanting to enjoy- my workshops and classes. Okay, so I can’t fly you all down to Toronto and fit all of you in my kitchen (I still foresee this happening one day…stay with me for that one). Instead, we filmed over 2.5 hours worth of fun and informative videos, and I have been working like a busy busy bee to get the loads of content that will go along with the program finito for your reading pleasure.

We’re going DIGITAL! Or maybe the term is virtual… or online??? I don’t know. What I do know is that we have now filmed our first ever full length online course! Yes- that is what all the hints we’ve been dropping are all about. We are slowly but surely working our way through all of my classes and workshops to make them fully accessible online for you to learn, laugh and cook along with no matter where in the world you are. Exciting, right? The first set of 20 videos were shot a few short weeks ago and over here we’re busy getting the finishing touches on the print materials that will go along with them. So, so, soooo many people email us every week asking if we have plans to put the course online, if they can get a copy of the handout, if we record them… All that jazz.

Last week, we announced some super exciting news about upcoming projects-and that my collection of e-books would be going into the “vault” this week. I promise this is a good thing- but I know a lot of peeps were eager to get their hands on the goods before they go. Since my website was being a bit finicky over the weekend, we are extending the sweet, sweet offer for the next 24 hours so make sure you hop on over to our shop and take advantage while you can. Use the coupon code “byebyebooks” with the purchase of 2 or more e-books and see your awesome savings upon checkout. (Pssst- the discount only applies to single books, not collections).

You ready for this? Can you handle it? I know, I’ll hold you’re hand and we can move forward together. As I mentioned yesterday, some things are changing around here- exciting things, I’d like to think! We’ve been assessing over here the best ways to get information out. Our goal is obviously to reach loads of people, but we also want those people we reach to have absolutely amazing help and guidance along the way. We have found that this has been amazingly achieved through our recent batch of online programs like The Fab Detox and The Gluten-Free Cleanse. If you’ve been following us on Twitter you may have seen some tweets going up last week about the new things brewing. Last week we began the process of putting much of our in class course content onto video to be able to offer workshop attendance and all the knowledge we share to you, wherever you may be.

I get loads upon loads of questions from amazingly excited people about to embark on their career in the health or creative field, seeking tips and tricks on how I manifested this wee little biz of mine.
Now this may not seem like a health related question, but it is. It really, really is. Remember that video I shared last week- about the missing link in the secret of health?
On May 1st, in a little over two weeks time, my business, Meghan Telpner Inc., will be turning 4 years old! That is pretty freaking exciting, especially since, when I started this here little blog and cooking school, which were both teeny, tiny- I hadn’t a clue where I wanted it all to go. I just kept working, envisioning, working more, being brave, being creative a lot of the time and smart some of the time.
The result is that in four short years- I’ve taught more cooking classes than I can count, had over 2,000 people attend one of my classes or public cooking events, sold out 4 retreats with the 5th on its way (just 3 spots left!), been a regular writer for a national newspaper, and a regular on national television, and most recently signed my first book deal (and then wrote, shot, edited, edited some more the best book there ever was) that will have Canadian and US disribution. Plus I have a few very special signature products.

Happy Easter, peeeps! How is the long weekend treating you, my loves? Well, I hope. I am busy making the final edits on my book- but I am happy to say this weekend hasn’t all been punctuation and grammar. I’ve enjoyed some lovely time with family and friends too. With Passover behind us, and Easter on it’s way out- it hit me just how quickly 2012 is flying by. A pretty good year, thus far, if I do say so myself. I have been having SO much fun with my CNE students, plus all the other wonderful people coming through my doors. I wish I could host the largest workshop ever, and have each and every one of you in the audience…I’ll make that a goal for 2013.

There is nothing more amazing to me than when you challenge a great big company, and they actually step forward and answer. LOVE that! And I haven’t had much luck- still no word from Chef Boyardee, Baskin Robbins, Pop Chips, or McCain. Loblaws Carlton, however, have proven themselves awesome! A couple weeks ago I had my first job interview in years. Yes, with Loblaws. And now, it’s my chance to prove myself awesome. In response to the amazing call out we had with all my friends and faves on Twitter- over 150 people shouted out “Hey @LoblawsCarlton- we want @meghantelpner in your kitchen!” And that very same day, they emailed me wanting to chat. I had a great conversation with the class coordinator who agreed to have me come in for an ‘audition’ style class. And it’s coming up!

Oh joy oh bliss oh happy Friday. I have never in my whole entire life wanted a Friday as much as I wanted this one. In the past 8 days we have had over 70 people through the kitchen for a cumulative total of six amazing classes for a sold out weekend of fun, fun, fun. We had ladies (yes- all but one were ladies) join us from around Ontario including Barrie, Orillia and Ottawa and people come from as far as Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Connecticut. We’re kicking this health train onto International tracks which makes us even more excited about what’s cooking.
So here are three exciting things to share.

My love sweet loves. I know you are busy peeps- but you must take an hour and a half out of your day (or evening- Sunday is perfect for this, no?) to watch “Hungry for Change”. This amazing film – which is available for free! -is a real game changer. If you put food in your mouth, you need to watch this. The film features some of my most favourite peeps- including David Wolffe, Kris Carr, Dr. Christine Northrup and Daniel Vitalis to name a few. Truly, everyone must watch this film.

We are excited over here! The time has come to reveal the magic that will be our 2013 retreat. Pushing it a little later next year due to the demands of my book, which will be released in December, we are embarking together on a new location, with a bigger group and much, much more to offer. This is so exciting (come on, do the running man with me). Are you coming???

After our attempts at persuading our awesometown intern Sondi Bruner to stay in Toronto failed (as well as our attempts at cloning her), we realized it was time to open the doors to another bright eyed, bushy tailed intern. This is a super exciting opportunity for my peeps looking to gain some serious experience- all while laughing, singing, dancing and cooking with us! Sounds pretty sweet, right? Right.
