The Green Smoothie Cleanse is coming August 6th. Get your tutorial now! My first ever Green Smoothie Cleanse Vitamix Incentive! Get your blend on. And enter to win nourishtea and amp up your smoothie!
While I was up at my cottage in early July, when it was a gazillion degrees outside, I decided it was the perfect conditions for a soup. Why? Because that day I had harvested a very special ingredient from the nearby woods which makes a soup extra powered healthy.
I rummaged through the fridge and pulled together my soup ingredients.
Guess The Ingredients!
Clues:
- 11 main ingredients
- 10 of which were locally grown
- 7 grow underground
- I don’t eat white potatoes
- The dry spices are not included in those 11 ingredients (meaning you don’t need to know these)
Look at the pic very carefully and give your best guess of what went into my soup.
The first person who guesses correctly, or closest to the correct list of 11 ingredients will win the box set of e-tutorials, valued at over $130. The first person to guess the freshly harvest ingredient is an extra winner and will also receive the box-set collection.
Ready, set, guess!
The full recipe will be posted tomorrow.
Question of the day: What’s in my soup?

Is the wild grown ingredient burdock?
Yes!
Hmmm…
Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Cauliflower, Celery, Onion, Broccoli stems, Leeks, Garlic, Beets (that’s 9 – can’t think of 2 more!)
I just thought of 1 more – turnips!
8/11… good try!
1.Carrot
2.Sweet potatoe
3.Cauliflower
4.Beet
5.Leek
6.Broccoli stems
7.Onion
8.Garlic
9.Radish
10.Celery
11. Cabbage (is that green cabbage I see????)
8/11
Broccoli, carrots, beets, cabbage, sweet potatoes or yams, cauliflower, leeks, ginger, Jerusalem artichoke, burdock, celery.
I’m tempted to say celeriac but after staring at the photo I think that’s wrong. -Although celeriac, Jerusalem artichoke and radish could all look the same on the inside.
8/11 as well… sensing a theme here!
Cauliflower, carrots, beets, sweet potato, cabbage turnip, leeks, broccoli stems, burdock root, ginger, garlic.. my guess
Ok lets give this a try…..
Carrot
Leek
Celery
Cauliflower
Beetroot
Onion
Sweet Potato (could be a yam or a swede though)
Broccoli
Mushroom (I THINK I can see a little one poking out, its hard to tell!)
Radish?
Cabbage?
Theres so many things that look like could be one or two different things. Its pretty hard!
I’ve just noticed I dont have 7 that grow underground so that cant be right!
Now trying to work out if a leek grows underground or not??
Partially… the white part does.
Here’s my guess
-carrots
-sweet potatoes
-leeks
-beets
-mushrooms
-cauliflower
-onions
-garlic
-celery
-brocolli stems or is that kohlrabi?
-swiss chard
hmmmmm this is tough! Great post!
Marilene
I can’t seem to guess 11 but I can give it a whirl. Why not? I think I see:
sweet potato (yam), beets, cauliflower, carrots, leeks, broccoli (stems), jicama. That’s all I got. This is hard
Carrots, red beets, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, green onion, red onion, sweet potato, cabbage, kiwi, mushroom.
Definitely no kiwi…
Okay, I’ll try:
carrots, leeks, beets, broccoli, cabbage, sweet potato, cauliflower, garlic, mushrooms, kohlrabi, turnip
And I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that your secret local ingredient is North American Ginseng!
I’m a little slow this morning, but I’ll give it a go:
1. Carrot
2. Sweet Potato/Yam
3. Cauliflower
4. Beets
5. Broccoli (stems)
6. Onion
7. Celery
8. Leek
9. Garlic
10. Radish
11. Mushroom
Harvested herb: Dandelion.
There’s some very good guessing going on here!
Ok, here’s my guess:
Cauliflower
Carrot
Sweet potato
Beets
Broccoli
Cabbage
Onion
Leeks
Garlic
Horseradish
And I’m going out on a limb here – was it a chaga mushroom you harvested (and is my 11th ingredient guess)?
Hope you enjoyed your soup!
Since Cara said that there have been some very close, yet not perfect guesses, I figure I’ll make another guess. Not sure if this is allowed
Keep everything the I listed above but scratch the horseradish and chaga mushroom. Then sub ginger and dandelion root (what I’m guessing you harvested) to make the eleven…..crossing fingers!!!
Very fun contest, btw!
8/11 with the revision.
Our guess (my daughter helped!):
1 – carrots
2 – beets
3 – celery
4 – sweet potatoes
5 – cauliflower
6 – kohlrabi
7 – leeks
8 – broccoli (stems)
9 – burdock
10 – red onion
11 – some kind of mushrooms (your locally harvested ingredient?)
1. sweet potato
2. carrots
3. beets
4. turnips
5. onion
6. garlic–because it grows underground, and what good is soup without it?
7. ginger??
8. broccoli stems
9. cauliflower
10. leeks
11. mushrooms from the forest??
OK, Here’s my try….
Leek
Carrot
Sweet Potato(or a yam)
radish
cauliflower
beetroot
avocado
garlic
onion
turnip
mushroom???(I’m not going to guess what kind, but I’m sure that was what you harvested from the woods. However having said that, I read that you and Josh harvested blackberries and there are some dark spots at the bottom, but I’m not sure that the blackberries belong in the delicious soup. )
