As we move in to another mid-summer’s weekend and perhaps we’re all buzzing a little with the excitement of the upcoming Green Smoothie Cleanse, I thought I would add a little surprise into the mix with an unexpected something for  you!

At long, long last, and after much begging and pleading (okay, maybe just a request here and there), my Guided Meditation recording is ready for you!

Zen Out Now!

Why am I sending this out into the world on the heels of the Green Smoothie Cleanse? Well, because what we eat is only a small part of what keeps us healthy. The more I work with people suffering from digestive ails, chronic pain and other types of long-term-nothing-seems-to-help conditions, I invariably go deeper into thought patterns and ingrained beliefs. Essentially, what I look for is resistent to change, reasons why someone won’t/can’t/doesn’t want to heal and take it from there.

In order to heal, to calm down and create the space inside for the magic to happen, we need to learn how to reprocess some stuff. And this is HUGE! Even harder than changing our eating habits is changing our thought habits.

You can tell me that you have had a rough day. You can tell me your woes. You can do so in a state of anxiety or dis-ease and I can tell you “Chill out, realax, it will all be a-okay in the end”. That really isn’t going to help you out in the end unless you really truly know this and believe it.

That my Zen Master Green Smoothie Lovers is where meditation comes in.

Speaking from my own personal experience, more so than any changes in diet, I do believe that my regular meditation practice has made all the difference in my life- from the way I am able to process stress, communicate in my relationships choose the foods that I eat and most importantly for me- maintain perfect health!

On this recording, not yet officially launched in my shop but only available here and now, is the following:

  • 40 min. Intro to meditation chitty chat with me
  • 25 min. Meditation in motion yoga practice
  • 20 min. Body Scan Practice
  • 20 min. Breathing Practice

$14 Zen Out Now!

The recording, though is one track, is separated by chapters so it is easy to skip ahead or move back. You can play out the entire meditation recording for a sweet hour or just skip to the 20 min. practice of your choosing.

Here are a few clips from the Introduction to Meditation Portion:

Do you remember when I wrote about Sitting. Thinking. Breathing. Doing Nothing ?

“Doesn’t everything amazing come from the time we allow ourselves to relax? When we are relaxed is when we connect the best with others, when we feel the best, when we look the best, when we digest the best, and when we laugh the best. No one has ever once said to me, Wow Meghan, you are a glowingly radiant stress-ball. Please tell me how you get that tension in your neck, that broken out complexion, those bags under your eyes and those patches of thinning hair? That bloaty weight gain around your mid-section- so sexy- and that twitchy foot and those gnawed off finger nails. Mmmmm mmmmm. I want some of that hawtness!” Keep Reading

Or how about my explanation of What Meditation Feels Like?

“Meditation shifts my mind away from its usual feeling of drowning in ideas. It allows my mind and I to take a deep breath and be still, allowing for space, oodles and oodles of space. This space allows for stresses, that we all like to keep in our special place (tummy, back, shoulders, hips…) to bubble up to the surface and then dissipate out, allowing space for no thought (which is like a cool breeze on a stifling day- true bliss) and also for brand new thoughts.  Every time I meditate, it all opens up a little more, the stresses untangle themselves a little more, and as a result in my normal state, I become increasingly open and calm.” Keep Reading

  1. Jen says:

When I’m stressed, or have too much on my mind, I cook or bake; it doesn’t matter what time of day it is.

  2. Diane Bailey says:

When anything is causing me stress, I like to visualize a “different story” about it…putting more positive information and thoughts into the story and I find that that helps to release any negative thoughts I was holding onto from situation. If it’s something that hasn’t happened yet, I really try to visualize it as it will happen with great detail and a very positive outcome for me. I’m a very visual person and these “sessions” always help me to feel better.

I love the idea of a “different story”. I do something related, which is turn anxiety into excitement. Both are reactions that release adrenaline and get the nervous system fired into high gear. When I find that I’m anxious and worked up about something, I think, “what is that thing I’m anxious about?” and then, “what can I be excited about instead?” It generally works really well, and has helped to make being anxious less scary, as well as focusing all that crackling energy into something good and often very productive!

    Hey there,
Just wondering, the clips don’t seem to be active. Is there a problem? I’d love to get a glimpse of ‘em.
    Best,

Answer: The dishes. Mindless, repetitive, autopilot activity.
    OR
Shower. Negative water ions really help to clear the brain of negativity. Sort of a like-cures-like situation.

  5. Metta says:

I usually sit quietly, focus on breathing, and say a calming affirmation.

  10. Aletheia says:

    How I deal with stress:

Go out. Walk, walk, and walk some more. Don’t come back til I am who I am.

  11. Erin says:

Hi Meghan, when I’m stressed I take deep breaths and let the stress out with each breath. At the same time I visualize myself someplace in nature, like in a lush green area with waterfalls that I can hear. Water is very calming.

  12. Andrea T says:

    Answer: Long walk.

The best way for me to get calm and clear my mind is to be near nature and especially water. I live near a ravine, which is great (Winston Churchill Park and Cedarvale ravine), but don’t have regular access to a body of water that isn’t a stream. Sometimes I miss living in Etobicoke South because I lived a half block from the lake. I would sometimes sit on a rock and meditate or swing on the swing set and look out over the lake. The Martin Goodman Trail was a short walk away.
I think that my connection to water is because I’m a pisces. :)
