Winners Part 1

So many peeps are all over the glass straws. I love it. Every Monday for the next little while we have amazing giveaways- hand picked by moi!
We have our winners. Now, I was offering the Glass Dharma Straws to the the lucky 1st, 13th, 42nd and 50th person who hopped on board the Summer Sipping Train, but this one was a bit of a slow on the go seller and so we didn’t make it all the way up to 50, hence my giveaway earlier this week. I think this works out better, because so many of you showed so much interest in making more responsible sipping choices and that means more winners!
So here are the winners in no particular order:
- Miranda G.
- Jennifer R.
- Amanda F.
Our lucky randomly drawn winner has a great little blog and is currently documenting a kombucha experiment which is near and dear to my heart since my own experiment started devouring fruit flies whole. Congrats to Danielle of That Vegan Blog. She has won a straw, holder and cleaner!

Update On The Deep Fried Twinkie Situation
I can’t thank you enough for all the awesome dialogue going down on my post regarding the deep fried Twinkies (the drug) and the CCFC (the dealer). Great comments here and on Twitter if you follow me. I sent your comments to them and at last heard back. I must say, and I am sure you would agree, that it is rare for me to talk nasty about anyone or any organization directly (at least publicly) but it’s not nice to be ignored. You know what happens when a parent ignores their child? A brother ignores his sister? A partner ignores his/her love? They make noise, demand more attention, and perhaps, stir trouble. So that is what I did by publishing the letter they conveniently ignored. As we all know, things don’t disappear if we only ignore them. We can use our health as an example for when we ignore it, it only shouts at us louder.
I am very pleased to share that the CCFC contacted me directly on Thursday and have requested a meeting for July. I will be sure to let you know how that goes. Should be very interesting. If you would like to send any letters, comments etc that I might be able to bring with me, that would be greatly appreciated. They can be submitted through the contact form on my website.
If you would like to submit anything directly, perhaps in advance of my meeting, here is a list of contacts as posted on their website (and please feel free to copy me). They have another fundraiser coming up in the fall… just saying. How many voices to they need to hear signing together before they get this is a strongly united chorus seeking change?

Meghan, congrats on getting a response from CCFC. Great job using your resources and courage to challenge an organization to serve its constituents better!
I’m thrilled to have won a set from GlassDharma! I look forward to using my new straw to enjoy kombucha, banana shakes, and other healthy goodies! Thanks for looking at my blog, as well! Hope that you are having an awesome retreat.
Wow, congratulations on that, and all the best of luck with it!
