Happy Friday my fair ladies (and man or two). April is supposed to be my month of taking time off and I am pretty sure I have been busier this week than ever. There is so much buzz and excitement over the new tutorial so that is wickedly fantabulous. In case you haven’t downloaded your copy yet, you can do so here.
Monday night, I rocked it out with my great friend, life coach Jennifer Schramm for our full house group who joined us to Fuel Their Lives. Tuesday and Wednesday I spent the afternoons chatting at The Institutue of Holistic Nutrition, the school I went to, about branding and business and other fun things and then Wednesday night…. oh Wednesday night I freaked myself right out by hosting my first ever live streaming TV show.
In case you missed it:
Now, you actually have to visit this page to see the delicious dialogue that was going on during the show and I was very pleased to have more than three viewers on my vest first episode! And also totally terrified. See, I knew my parents would be watching, and I knew Josh would be watching. I didn’t count on you too plus my brother being the way brothers are and my boyfriend from when I lived in LA getting in on the convo. They all were chatting with each other as I tried to answer your great questions. That’s what you get with live broadcast! We will be doing it again soon. I hope to make a regular night for the show so you’ll know when and where to find me each week and each week we’ll have a new and delicious topic to discuss.
The next episode will be airing live on Wednesday, April 21st at 9pm EST and we’ll be chatting about how the 5 Days Healing with Superfoods is going and I’ll offer a little Green Smoothie Cleanse pep talk. What are you doing Wednesday evening? I know!
Discussion and Film Screening: King Corn
What could be better than watching an awesomely inspiring, informative and entertaining documentary about the insanity of the corn industry? Nothing. Nothing could be better. I’ll be giving a brief 15 min. lecture on the importance of whole foods, nutrients lost in the processing and a primer on genetically modified foods along with the health and safety risks associated with them. The we watch the film, big screen style projected on the wall of the loft.
Cost: $12.00 / person

So I have covered Live TV, Videos and Events. It is now time for Presents, Raindrops and Cookies. They all came at once yesterday! As you can imagine, I get overly excited when Spring starts to poke around. I love dropping everything mid-afternoon, hopping on my bicycle and cruising by the lake. It has been raining for way too long. I think we might be pushing two days now (this is why I don’t live in Vancouver). This morning as I was running out for a meeting, wasn’t I tickled orange when I saw that bright orange package sitting at the front door for me. And do you know what was inside?
Cookies!
Really delicious, healthy cookies! Really delicious healthy cookies from one of my sweetest readers. Yep- I do pick favourites and my love can be bought with cookies. They were a gift from Deborah of the blog Gourmet Mom.
You’ll have to visit her blog for the recipe. They are delicious. Thank you Deborah!
I am off to rest up for an inspiring weekend with Don Miguel Ruiz, author of The Four Agreements, and at a separate event, I will do my best to squeeze in a cuddle with everyone’s favourite superfoodist David Wolfe. Also exciting is that a bunch of the fantastic women who joined me on my retreat in St. Lucia will also be in attendance with the Wolfenator.
Next week, as we gear up for the 5 Days Healing with Everyday Superfoods challenge, I will have awesome superfood recipes, a sweet little beverage treat, a root vegetable that looks like a penis, more chocolate as health food treats, and an extra special post by a guest blogger. That’s right. I said penis. Fun to come and hope you can come out for the screening on Wednesday. Have a great weekend!

Oops! Those cookies look AMAZING, but the links to Gourmet Mom don’t work! (my google skills don’t seem to be helping me with this one either…it is simply nowhere to be found) How can I access this delicious recipe??? Please re-post!
ps. Congrats on your first live TV performance! Glad to hear it was a success
Meghan,
but oops, the links don’t work to my blog. Here’s where people can find the cookie recipe http://gourmetmom.blogspot.com/2010/03/cookies-that-taste-good-and-are.html The ones I sent you had 1/2 sunflower and half pumpkin seeds rather than all sunflower.
I’m so happy to be one of your favourites
Thanks again for all the kind words
Deborah
Sorry about that! I just fixed them so they should be okay now.
Hi Meghan! What a week. Sorry I missed the broadcast on Wednesday. I got mixed up with the time difference! Must be my Vancouver Island waterlogged brain. Glad it was a success! Hope to catch the next one.
Those cookies look awesome. They remind me of ones my mom used to make with cornflakes, pb and corn syrup – only without the cornflakes, pb or corn syrup. Can’t wait to try this updated version.
Veggies shaped like thingies. Can’t wait. I bought sunchokes for the first time recently only because there was a penis-shaped one in the bunch. Veggies that make you laugh right out loud in the produce aisle have to be extra good for you.
I love sunchokes! Roast them up with onions and garlic like you would potatoes or steam and mash like mashed potatoes. I could see how they would have the penis looking potential- though kind of stubby looking no?
