What could possibly better than cooking and eating amazing food? Cooking and eating amazing food for a fantastic cause!

Thanks to the initiative of my friend Noa, we have teamed up with Second Harvest Toronto to run a fundraising cooking class where all proceeds from the class go right to this organization.

So what are you doing Monday night? It can’t be this much fun.

If you are unfamiliar with Second Harvest, what this delicious organization does is collect food that would otherwise go to waste from food depot’s around the city and deliver to the peeps who need it the most- the front lines of hunger, if you will. Food donors include grocery stores, food manufacturers and distributors. Second Harvest drivers pick up this fresh food and transport it within hours to the front lines of hunger – to community centres, shelters, breakfast programs and drop-in centres. These social service agencies provide food to children in need, seniors on fixed incomes, women fleeing domestic abuse, homeless people, psychiatric patients and thousands of other who have fallen on hard times.

Come by on Monday, March 1st at 6:30! You can register here and only five spots remain!

Cooking For A Cause:
Fundraiser Cooking Class For Second Harvest

This cooking class is a fundraiser in partnership with Second Harvest. After the costs of food is covered, the rest goes directly to support the great work of this outstanding not-for-profit organization.

The class format will follow the standard where I do a little talking, you do a little cooking and together, we all do a little (okay, a lot) of eating. The menu will be a mix of some of my favourite dishes from various cooking classes that I offer and this class will be a great way to help support the health of our community as well as the health of yourself!
