If you missed the series on Tampon Talk, check out the articles:

Part 1, Tampax Tampons: Toxic Sticks of Death

Part 2, Tampax Tampons: Toxic Sticks of Death

Part 3, Tampax Tampons: Toxic Sticks of Death

As part of my desire to share this info with you, I gave a little holla over to the Diva Cup gals who generously offered to give away two Diva Cups to two lucky ladies. Those lucky ladies have been selected (by random.org) and they are:

For those of you who didn’t win and are interested in Diva-ing it up, be sure to check out retail outlets near you. For those of you who commented that you were afraid to make the investment, or commented on the price, I would say that $30 is well worth the investment. It typically pays for itself within three months.

To help even further, just yesterday, I received a delightful email from the ladies over at Lunapads who were all over the anti-toxic-pon articles of last week and wanted in on the vag love. You gotta love a company that puts together a discount just for us and labels the discount code “HEALTHYVAG09″. So hop on over to lunapads.com enter HEALTHYVAG09 at the checkout and receive 10% off any product on the site and that includes Diva Cups, bright pink period friendly panties and of course, the delightfully colourful eco-friendly Lunapads.

In addition to the Lunapad peeps, I received a generously kind email from Seventh Generation who pointed me in the direction of a fantastic initiative they are doing called Let’s Talk Period, that helps raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. All you have to do is sign up and they’ll donate $1 to the OCRF. So if the Diva Cup or any of the other above options don’t work for you, the easiest transition you can make is simply to switch to all natural, all cotton tampons such as the ones made by Seventh Generation.

If you are in the Toronto area, be sure to drop in at Red Tent Sisters, over on the Danforth near The Big Carrot. They are an outstanding and unparalleled resource for women on all things natural and lady-like from natural contraception to fertility yoga to burlesque dancing. Always a fun place to visit. Check out their class schedule here.

And lastly, you may have noticed a new button over yonder on the right-hand column. As you know, I heart writing this blog with all my might and I want to keep doing it, giving my posts the time they need to be researched and written, and being able to respond to your comments. I do sell my tutorials to help me keep at it, but to keep my accountant from shutting me down or insisting I make this subscription based, I am going to give this a go first.

donationSooooo…. If you get value from the recipes I lovingly create and share, the health information I research and then simplify so it makes the simple sense that it is, the giveaways I chase after great companies to offer, the tutorials I will continue to write and offer with group supported coaching, the giggle I hope I induce once in a while, or any other benefits you might be receiving from this blog on a daily basis, I am merely suggesting the option of a donation box.  What does a monthly magazine cost? How about a month’s worth of newspapers? Or a week’s worth of coffees or teas? Or maybe 30 year’s worth of tampons (then I could be the richest lady in the land)? Or maybe just keep reading and keep commenting because that too is more than enough.

In great health,
Meghan

  6. Good job! This post is all kinds of awesome.

I’m checking out the Lunapads website. They make a product (http://bit.ly/14mlrC) that allows females to pee standing up! (Thereby eliminating the only reason I’ve ever had penis envy. :) )

  7. Melinda says:

  8. This is only slightly off-topic, but this post reminded me of it. I just read in a magazine about a new book called “Flow.” It sounds like a fun read … for women of course! It has all types of history and tidbits in it.

  9. lace says:
