It was good to get away. I sure needed it. In  my most recent newsletter, I summed my last month up as follows:

Sure has been busy of late. From my little feature on Crazy, Sexy Life, a radio interview on CBC3, the demo at the Veg Food Fair, a Healthy Meal prep workshop, teaching the fall cooking classes, doing a Natural Body Care seminar at Wellspring, a couple corporate gigs, meeting with clients, coaching a 5 Days Vegan program, a 3 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse, and then running off to a farm in Ohio to learn a little bit about herbs but mostly to hide.

So yeah, I needed a getaway and it was awesome. Leaving my computer and phone at home, sleeping 9-10 hours a night, playing outdoors, eating fresh food, being active, exploring a new place…  On my vision board, right across the top are the words “Beauty is everywhere. We all deserve to see it”. What I realized getting this little space from the hustle of my life is that all we need is to take a little time and it is really amazing what unfolds right in front of us. This, of course, is the intention of my Nourish Your Soul Retreat. To my knowledge I have just four spots remaining and airlines have their seats on sale ($550 return from Toronto to St. Lucia on West Jet) so for all of you far far away, what a great time for us to meet and for you to have a magical experience.

A short recap this week followed by the last bit of beauty I have to share from Ohio.

Wedensday:  The Magical Magic of Castor Oil
Who knew it could pretty much do everything short of bring world peace… and it might just be able to do that too

Thursday: Tincture-riffic Tincture Making (Video)
Josh and I get busy showing off how to make an herbal medicine tincture from freshly harvested nettles.

Friday: Move Over Goji, It’s Time For The Autumn Olive
I discover my new favourite antioxidant powered fruit

Be sure to check back in next week where we’ll be making the best ever tempeh balls, pasta sauce, and pickles. Now on with the pics!

On the way to the airport, we had some time to kill so I suggested we get off the highway at the next exit. Josh thought I had some intuitive reason for picking that exit… what do you think we found? A perfect last stop to a perfect weekend.IMG_6898

  1. VeggieGirl says:

    AWESOME, well-deserved getaway, indeed.

  2. LOVED the photos. I’ve actually hiked the Hocking Hills. Gorgeous! Were you anywhere near Old Man’s Cave?

The herb farm looks enchanting. I do believe that donkey was smitten.

Noticed on your list up top, you neglected to mention the complete kitchen overhaul. Blocked this “little” project from your mind? :D

That looks live heaven! Glad you recharged. Loved your replays this week too. The castor oil piece was great, I have always wondered why it is good for us, and now I know.

I would so be on your St. Lucia trip if my youngest daughter wasn’t too young to be separated from me for a week. Maybe next year!
