Happy New Year to all my Jewriffic readers. This weekend is the Jewish New Year, one of the few Jewish Holidays that actually celebrates happiness. We bring in the new year with apples, honey, family and fun. I can tell you one thing, this year I am surely celebrating! It has been a great one.  And all the goodness of the last year was magnified in this last insane week.

Workshop time! I am not really THAT munchkin in real life... just the angle I think.

What a week my friends, what a week. That photo above is about how I feel come this fine September weekend. I am toasted (gluten-free of course). It has been a whirlwind week launching the fantastically fun and exciting line-up of my fall. Non-blog life started off last Friday night with a radio interview about the 5 Days Vegan program. Saturday saw me tap dancing to the tune of a Live Food Demo at the Veg Food Fair. Sunday I kicked it up with some cool peeps at my Healthy Meal Prep Workshop (See Andrea’s Blog Inspired Canoe for her take on the day). A couple clients broke up my prepping on Monday and Tuesday we put the new kitchen into full use as chaos reigned in the first class of the sold-out four and  six week cooking program. We broke in the new kitchen with 12 cooks-in-training chopping, baking, vita-mixing and eating. Mix in a couple corporate presentations, Twitter coaching the 5 Days Vegan program, some exciting business meetings, a bike ride or two and a magical yoga class with my fave teacher of all time, thai yoga massage by a sweet friend (more on those two things next week) and yes, I do feel like collapsing on the grass (preferably real) with my shades on a coconut at hand.

Alas- fun does not stop here. Just as 5 Days Vegan comes to an end today, some of us will be carrying on the fun with the third 3 Days Green Smoothie Cleanse. For those of you who did the 5 Days Vegan Program, I encourage you to share your experience either with me, or with other readers. I love getting your feedback, so please post comments about the program here!

And now, my health cheerleaders… Are you with me? Pom poms ready? Can I get a ‘Heeeeey’? Can I get a “Hoooooo”? Hey! Ho! Hey Ho! Here we go!!! I usually don’t post Sundays, but it is not every Sunday that we kick off a Green Smoothie Cleanse. See you tomorrow- will be coaching this 3 days in a whole new way than the last two. You don’t want to miss what’s coming whether you are participating or not. Inspired you will be!

And now the recap

Monday: Don’t Be A Label Whore
Why bother trying to figure out what a nutrition label means. Skip it completely and just eat whole, real, recognizable food. Nothing complicated about that!

Monday: Talking Vegan On The Radio with Lanarama
In case you missed the interview I had with Lana Gay on CBC Radio 3- here it is.

Tuesday: No One Likes A Teese
Especially a teese made out of fake soy food, crammed into a plastic tube, and meant to resemble real cheese.

Wednesday: Nofu To Tofu
Would you trust a food that can be milk, a hot dog, scrambled eggs, cake, roast and pie? Me neither.

Thursday: No Bread? No Problem
Oh the creativity abounds in this new kitchen. We’re off bread this week and so give falafel bread a go. Seems it’s a winner!

Friday: Friday You’re In Love
Soy-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, wheat-free, all delicious, totally vegan Ice Cream Cake. Love me now. Thank me later.

Hey Meghan- I stumbled upon your blog and your story is very inspiring! I’m in a similar situation. I’ve had digestive issues my whole life and have recently found that changing my diet and practicing other holistic remedies have made my symptoms dramatically better. I was just wondering where are you going to school to become a holistic health counselor?> I am interested in going back to school myself but don’t know where to go. Thanks for the advice : )

Meghan, I made the falafel bread! It was great! We had it for dinner last night and lunch again today with a great stir fry and salad. Totally satisfying. It will be great for packed lunches now I am back to work. Thanks for being so generous in sharing so many recipes on your blog. I wish I was still in T.O and could come to your cooking classes!

  12. Amazing! I saw your registration come through. So exciting that the November course is filling up already! Looking forward to meeting you!
