This interview was so long ago that I forgot about it until the magazine landed in my mailbox yesterday. Always fun to see yourself in print (especially when you weren’t the author of the article).
Here is the short little piece on Betty, my bicycle (or click on the above image to get to the original):
Meghan Telpner lives and works by the philosophy of keeping it simple, keeping it light, slowing down, and remaining happy. She is a nutritionist and holistic lifestyle consultant, and an avid cyclist. Telpner bought her first bicycle a few years ago and the day after she bought it she went on her first training ride for that year’s Friends for Life Bicycle Rally, a fundraiser for the AIDS Committee of Toronto. Two months later, she and a friend completed the 600 kilometre ride from Toronto to Montreal.
Telpner’s bike has two baskets, both of which are used for her daily pick-ups and deliveries. One of those baskets is a special remnant from a bicycle she owned while living in California. She used a bike as her main mode of transportation in notoriously car-obsessed Los Angeles. To brighten up her bike she decorated it with plastic flowers. Curious shoppers at the market she frequented began leaving other plastic flowers in her basket, as well as fresh stems and fruit. When she returned to Toronto she left the bike behind, but brought the basket with her as a lasting memory.
She has since added other decorations, creating a unique way to promote her business. She rides with a flag on the back that says “Feel Good? Feel Great!” alongside a URL for her website. Meghan often rides along the Lakeshore, westbound, out to Mimico, to enjoy her favourite reading spot and a healthy picnic.

What a neat, upbeat article. It made me smile. It would have made me smile, even if I was not a follower of your blog and had never heard of you.
How cool! Congrats. What a fun article!
Go Meghan!
