You know I love writing, cooking and sharing both with you. That makes this blog one of my most favourite parts of the work that I do. But between the seven posts a week, plus a video, I am in need of a rest. So I have decided, at least for the short and sweet summer, I will be taking weekends off and instead offer a little week in review.
(Stacy- now you can just send this to your parents and they won’t feel too overwhelmed).
So here is a recap of the love that went on in my kitchen for the week of June 8th.
Monday: Lemon Juice Makes Me Wince
Does it ever! As part of the second of the Green Smoothie Cleanse, I share my morning ritual of lemon juice and cayenne pepper and the amazing things this little elixir does for our over all health. A little daily action with huge benefits.
Tuesday: Watching Green Things Grow
Day 3 of the Green Smoothie Cleanse and I get way too excited over the sprouting little seedlings and tremendous harvest from my window herb garden. I explain how to sprout from soil and show off the cutest little sunflower sprouts you ever did see.
Wednesday: Salad Five Ways
Back to eating solid food after three days of Green smoothies and I share the healthy eating of my family (thanks to my kitchen control) and how a Make Your Own Salad lunch keeps everyone happy. A comment from reader Sara kind of makes me nauseous but my brother loved it.
Thursday: Coca-Cola Made My Day (Video)
Went on an undercover mission to my local convenience store to pick up a can of Coke. See for yourself the miracle cleaner it is as it restores a burnt up stainless steel frying pan to good as new condition. Finally a good use for this carmel colour, caffeine and flavour enhanced obesity and diabetes inducer.
Friday: Cookies For Catherine (Recipe)
I brag about another wonderfully talented friend and share the yummy in the tummy gluten-free vegan chocolate chip cookie recipe I whipped up just for her.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I am off on a bicycle trip for a couple of days. Fresh new post tomorrow and I promise I will make up for the recipe shortage this week- but I was drinking smoothies. Can’t blame me for that.

Thanks for the healthy version of my recipe! I almost never have g/f flours around, but it does look delicious!
Wow, what a great idea — a recap to sift through. Great entertainment since I haven’t stopped by to visit for awhile. Love the salad bar. My 5 favorites? Hmm, only 5? Avocado, cherries, roasted nuts and seeds, raw beets (for sure), grilled onions. Gosh, I could go on. Great photos, by the way.
You definitely deserve some rest on summer weekends! Enjoy.
Well deserved breaks for you! I like the recaps.
