Once again, I want to thank everyone who participated in this delightful 3-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse. I know there were times in the last three days that you wanted to throw in the towel (or blender as the case may be), but my hope is that upon completion you do feel a wonderful sense of wellbeing and empowerment. In what you have accomplished, you have likely had some influence on those around you as well. Just as the body can not heal certain parts in isolation, we also don’t get healthier in isolation. Everyone around us is affected by the changes we make in our own lives (good and bad!).
I don’t really expect you to keep up with green smoothies all the time. I do hope that you might consider having them as a breakfast, or snack from time to time. I hope that perhaps some of the healthy lifestyle practices may stick with you- perhaps you’ll keep getting your 8 hours or sleep, or maybe take twenty minutes in the morning for quiet time. Perhaps you can stick with the lemon/cayenne bevvie in the morning or simply take the idea of conscious eating to the table with you for every meal.
For those of you who missed out on participating in the group cleanse, we will do it again in a couple months. I do highly recommend getting a group together yourself and doing it with your own group of friends, partner, walking group, book group, office etc. Having a group to support you and to be accountable to and to even share a smoothie with helps out huge. The tutorial is, of course, always available for download and I am available by phone/skype if you want me present for your kick off. Email me to discuss this further (meghan (at) meghantelpner (dot) com).
And if you just want to download the cleanse and go at it solo- Do it! No time like the present! Register here!
To date, there have been nearly 300 participants globally (at least that have let me know- I am sure there are many under the radar). That is pretty awesome!
Now… on to the winners! With the June 7th Group Cleanse, there were prizes up for grabs. One of the most exciting being Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein 50% which was genereously offered by John Roulac, CEO and founder of Nutivia, who wanted to support all of us in the cleanse. Bonus points to Nutiva for sending me a jar of their fabulous fair trade, cold pressed, extra virgin coconut oil- a product I love and am happy to support.
I couldn’t be outdone on the giveaway front on my own cleanse so I threw in a few prizes of my own: 2 bags of My Favourite Granola and a sweet Making Love In The Kitchen T-Shirt .
The Winners
(drawn through random.org):
- Nutiva Hemp Protein winner: MariposaGirl of A Sparkle A Day
- My Favourite Granola #1: Macy

Hi Meghan… being the end of RAW day coming off the cleanse I wanted to say how surprised I was at how filling and satisfying a green smoothie is.
I have juice fasted before and really struggle with it!
The hardest part was definately taking care of my family (cooking) but they made that part easy for me. (I’m a nibbler)
I was surprised that I could still workout without any lightheadedness… I had energy to chase my toddler… that surprised me too!
I absolutely will be making smoothies (and green ones too) a regular occurrence.. not just for the cleanse.
I could go on and on … I highly recomennd a cleanse to anyone needing a lift! for health, for vitality… and it’s a great exercise in self control
Sincerely….Thank you!
off to make a smoothie for work tomorrow!
I love your coke solution! I, too have a scorched Padermo pot that defies scrubbing… I will pick up a can of coke for pot burining emergencies!
Wahoo! I still have a meal’s worth of last night’s smoothie left (if you saw the photo with the overflowing blender, you see one of the reasons why). Was going to drink it for breakfast but ate fruit. Lunch was salad. Dinner… maybe the smoothie heated up as soup with tortilla chips since it has a bit of a guacamole taste going on.
The most challenging part of the smoothie cleanse is what to do when you have other plans around evening meal times.
I went off the cleanse for dinner on the first day because I went to two evening events and was famished after the first. The intention had been to eat a salad if I was hungry without access to a smoothie (i.e. stay raw) but the salad at venue #2 – my usual Monday evening place – tends to be bitter. In retrospect I could have ordered the greek salad that comes as a side for their spanokopita as a full meal. I only realized this after eating the spanokopita, layer of cheese on top scraped off.
Days 2 and 3 were back on all smoothies, all the time.
Lesson here: Generally for a 3 day cleanse I’d recommend clearing one’s evening schedule for all three days but had event tickets.
