Give a nutritionista a hand here. I am a wee bit swamped with my current workload and am spending the weekend at the Canadian Holistic Nutrition Conference. I will likely be well inspired when I return to regular blogging in a couple days after having met Michael Schmidt and Elson Haas- true pioneers in this field of holistic nutrition.
With that said, I have a favour to ask. I want to know what you would like to see from me. I have a whole host of blog ideas, but am starting to draw blanks when it comes to useful videos. I like to have a couple on the ready but need some ideas. What do you want to see?
Do you want to meet someone I have mentioned in the past? My friend Vanessa that I talk about so often? My brother who refuses to drink Green Smoothies? See me cook something? Take you on a tour of my home? A market? My odd neighbourhood? Do a Q & A video responding to your questions? (See, I really have no good ideas at the moment)
Post your ideas in the comments section and in addition from knowing that you have helped me out, you will be entered to win a packet of My Favoruite Granola. Entrants will be drawn at random by random.org. Contest ends when I think it’s time to end it. Likely on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Also, to prove that I do more than blog and make silly videos, sweet Ashley at Dancing Through Life wrote about our second cooking class that I hosted Thursday night. Check it out here. I also love that she is both taking my classes and reading Vanessa’s memoir Sleeping Naked Is Green. (Canadian or US)
And as all my American readers are off celebrating Memorial Day weekend with BBQs and picnic fun- here is as very cute video with a good little message to mind your meat.
And June 7th… 3-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse #2.

ooo good question idk I will think about it and get back to you.
I would love to hear more about the hollistic diet. I also think it would be great to show us your pantry/fridge, so we can see staples and the types of foods you keep on hand. The market tour would also be fun.
I would love to hear a video post on food combining. I have been doing a lot of research about it and it really has me interested. It would be interesting to hear your take on it, whether you have tried it, and if you have did it help with your digestion issues?
I love all of your recipe videos. I find it really helpful to watch someone making a recipe and then to copy that myself. Thanks for the inspirational blog!
Id like to see some creative packed lunch ideas! portable food!
I’ve actually been thinking it would be great to see “a day in the life of” kind of thing… Showing us examples of your meal choices for a whole day. It would take time and planning but it would be so beneficial to see the prep and product for each meal.
Also, I haven’t seen you cover pH at all and I’m interested in it. I just visited my acupuncturist yesterday and she said it seems as though i’m too acidic so she made some recommendations but I’d love to get any info that you might want to bestow upon us : )
For videos – a normal day in your life – to help inspire us – similar to what Amanda suggested this above.
Blogs – kids lunches, snacks & suppers. I need healthy yummy options that my kids love and not think they are missing out when I don’t let them have all those processed treats ect.
Would love to see a video of what equipment you think is essential in a kitchen (i.e. mixers, grinders). Also more videos of recipes please!
I would love to see a video on how you keep your kitchen/fridge organized as well as how you go about meal planning and veggie prepping. I love making fresh, healthy food for my family of 3 little kids and a husband, but I feel like I am in the kitchen all day long. Seeing how someone else juggles her life with her CSA box would be wonderful.
Oh, and I know this is silly, but I would love to learn an good way to open a coconut. I am horrible at that.
I would also love to see posts/videos on packed meals, meal planning and what healthy day of eating looks like for you.
Maybe something about herbal supplements too.
I’ve been following Michael Schmidt’s raw milk crusade for years! Awesome that you met him.
I’ll think on it and get back to you. I’m looking for ideas of my own because an American food blog has asked me to guest blog for them.
P.S. Outdoor farmer’s markets are starting up again! I was going to go to the Brickworks market today but slept through it.
Is it possible to do a “how-to” sprout video and/or to show us if there are different ways to sprout?
How to peel, seed, crack open and cook/use/eat some of those unique veges and fruits we would not be so inclined to try would be cool, too!
nikki must not have seen your entertaining coconut cracking video ;o)
Love the idea of a Q and A video. And food videos are always good!
I vote for a tour of your home! Would love that!
I would like to know about some of your recommended restaurants in Toronto!…especially more obscure ones…
I’m new to your blog and would love to see some recipes. I’m always looking for something new to try.
I would love to find out how you organize your cooking for the week? I try to spend a couple of hours on Sundays ensuring I have something on hand for a couple of meals a week but I struggle with this.
That said, any and all sharing is appreciated!
I absolutely enjoy all of your cooking videos, keep those coming! I second the portable food idea (by which I mean, something that is functional for say a spontaneous hike or any other sort of summer adventure).
Also, I think you should take on wraps! I’ve made buckwheat wraps, they were tasty and all, but their pliability is questionable or downright non-existent. As are most other gluten-free wraps/tortillas that do not involve corn it seems.
Or, head into some of your neighbourhood’s restaurants and question/coach them on gluten-free dining. That’d be an eventful video montage, I think we could all do without the headache of debating with our server (I always feel like an ass for making them go out of their way for me!).
Pull a ‘Take Home Chef’ at your farmers’ market! Find a stranger (a willing one) and accompany them to their kitchen to cook up a little magic.
Strawberry Shortcake! I would really like to see you transform that classic summer dessert.
Otherwise, I suggest a little homemade cosmetics video series. I am continually astounded at the presence of gluten and paraben in products. Yikes!
Hmm… gone a bit overboard here. I hope that some of it was helpful, or at the very least entertaining!
- modifying a recipe for intolerances / make it healthier
- merits of raw diets
- food i won’t eat if you paid me….
- favourite books
- more recipes (these always take me the most time, but are the most popular)
Recipes for health and healing please! More about the things you did to manage and get your Crohn’s symptoms under control.
And I would love to see more about your skincare routine and body care.
Thanks lady!
Oh and how about book recommendations for learning more about the basic foundations of natural health and remedies too!
Thanks for your awesome ideas everybody. New videos and lovely new posts will be coming soon! The winner will be announced tomorrow afternoon.
I love all the above ideas, plus would love to learn about using a dehydrator… and more yummy recipes. Tips on grocery shopping and how you prep everything when you get home (chopping and putting into glass jars). Thanks!
Could you incorporate bits from you cooking classes into your videos without giving away the entire class? The class Ashley wrote about at “Dancing though life” looks wonderful, but I’m too far away to attend.
Laurie- everything I post is bits from my classes… and from life. All I am doing in the classes and on this blog is sharing the way that I lived that made me all better
Yeah, let’s do a video together! Maybe a garbage-free meal or something. Hmm… let me think about it!
Wish I was organised enough to regularly organise my inbox, the number of emails that are left to respond later that I never get around to.
