Nope. Not the tropical isles this time. I headed on a little transatlantic voyage to England and Ireland. The blog will be sporradic and I did plan ahead when I found out that neither the place I am staying in London or Ireland have internet. Once I was able to resume breathing, I decided it is likely a blessing to take a break. Posts will still be coming- my ability to answer questions and respond to comments will be less frequent.

So what’s the plan?

I am stopping in London to do a whirl wind tour of friends I have met around the world who have settled (or were always from) the London area. And how many ex-boyfriends can one city hold? The answer my friends is four and I am happy to say that I adore each of them to bits and am looking forward to catching up. And no- there will be no reason for all those worlds to collide. Separate meals.

After  three days in London I am hopping on over to Ireland for the main event.

img_5035The above photo was from New Year’s eve. We have never gone traditional and instead opt for themes. This year: Princesses and Robots. I tell you this so you can get an idea of the silliness that is about to unfold.

One of my bestest friends Matt (bottom right corner in the silver hat with the light on top) from high school (we lived around the corner from each other- literally) and his delightful lady love Louise (to Matt’s right) are tying the knot at her parents home out in a town called Gork. I have no idea what I am in for. What I do know is that eight of us from high school, the closest group of friends you ever did see, are all meeting up there to reside in a big white house by the water for a weekend of love.

Come to think of it, between Vanessa (everyone’s favourite Green Thistle), (she’s in the back aggressively grabbing the top of the robot mask) myself (in the middle with the white dress and blue shawl), Jacob (bottomc centre with a vaccum hose on) Matt and Ian (middle, second from left with a nintendo controller attached to his chest)- it will be a reunion of the ‘cast’ of Vanessa’s recently published book “Sleeping Naked Is Green“. In addition to the aforementioned, Rae who is a doctor and her husband (matching red dresses in tha back) will be joining us- leaving their sweet baby boy at home and D’Arcy (the one in the robot mask), a bike engineer for Rocky Mountain and James (not pictured) will also be joining.

Will surely be a weekend to remember. In Gork. I feel like a town called Gork could be the long lost village on the outskirts of Fraggle Rock.

Sounds like a lovely and exciting weekend with your friends. Bon Voyage and enjoy Meghan! It’s good that you are taking unplanned time away from the computer too, I think it’s something we need to do more often. After all your hard work, you deserve it!

  6. That sounds like so much fun! I was just reading a copy of Body & Soul magazine last night and there was a feature on Vanessa. When you mentioned Green as a Thistle, it took me a minute to put the two together. How awesome for her!

    Have a great trip!
