What a beautiful way to end an amazing week. For those of you who particpated in the group smoothie cleanse, I hope this week has been as uplifting for you as it has for me. This morning I woke up with an overwhelming feeling of wellbeing. It’s not like I normally wake up feeling lousy, its just that I have been working so much lately that I just haven’t taken the time to acknowledge it all.
This morning I woke up feeling wonderful. The sun was shining, and with pink tulips from someone special sitting on my desk, I was ready to get to work. Aaaaand my internet was down. Given the experiences I have had in my life, I trust that all things have good reason for happening. Instead of stressing (well maybe one phone call to my parents to gripe about the brutal monopolization in Canada’s internet providers), I hopped on my sweet bicycle Betty and rode by the lake. My neighbourhood may have a reputation for being a little sketchy mcsketch but being five minutes by bicycle to Lake Ontario is worth every commuter train that goes by and every rattly roll of my ‘neighbour’s’ shopping carts. It was a glorious morning by the beach.
I came home to find a big envelope in the mail from the best investment adviser ever. In honour of me, Ms. Macy printed the cover of the document in pink and stuck to it the cutest Little Miss Sunshine sticker. She knows finance is so not my thing, and doing her very best to engage me in it.
Tomorrow there is a new moon. What does this mean to you? The new moon is a time of rebirth and transformation. It is a chance to start fresh, start anew and let go of the stuff we drag around with us. Perhaps the Green Smoothie Cleanse is helping you to drop old habits. With the new moon you can pick up new, beneficial ones.
Since my retreat in Dominica, sweet yogini Jenn has inspired me to start pulling tarot cards at the new moon. This past moon, I drew the best card ever- The Sun. I don’t follow tarot readings to the T- as a friend told me last night, its good that I maintain a fairly realistic sense of humour about all of this, but I do think it offers something. The meaning of The Sun is happiness, contentment and bliss. See! Best card ever!!!
This is the light that comes after the long dark night, a positive card that promises glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, and success. This card symbolizes discoveries made fully conscious and wide awake. This is clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy. And all of these things, my sweet readers, I have felt in the last month.
With tomorrow’s new moon, I will be releasing yet another Guide to Health. This one relates to balancing our hormones with the lunar cycle- the patterns of the moon to reduce PMS and regulate our cycles simply using omega 3, polunsaturated oils. How awesome is that!
I will be posting a yummy in the tummy chocolate Friday recipe in a little while. For now here are some photos and part of the soundtrack that went with my morning.
Have a great day!

I know, it’s SOO nice outside right now! I wish I could type on my laptop out on the deck, but the sunshine means I can’t see my screen properly… man, why does suntanning and working at the same time have to be so difficult?
Can’t wait for your post on aligning hormones with the lunar cycle (also can’t believe I just said that with a straight face) — ever since the birth control pill effed up my hormones for a year, I feel like I need to pay more attention to them. Poor little guys… were just trying to do their job.
I love the idea of balancing my cycle with the moon! I heard about that years ago but didn’t know what to do or how to do it, so I’m very excited to hear more!
I can just feel your good mood radiating out of my computer! Seeing those photos made me miss living in T.O…. I loved how you could change scenery so quickly there!
Do you ever go to Live for raw food? I used to work on Dupont and practically spent my whole paycheque there! I miss it since moving to Ottawa but on the other hand I prepare much better food at home now.
Love that bicycle! And the weather was spectacular, wasn’t it?
PS Live is wonderful–you must try it!
I love your billboard on wheels, Meghan! Soooo colorful.
This earthmama is also a lover of Luna. I synched my cycle with Grandmother Moon by taking moon baths as often as possible, basking in her Light. Sleeping in a pitch dark room is really important too. Do those two things and you’ll be ovulating on the full moon and bleeding on the new moon in no time.
I hope you have a relaxing weekend planned after your verrrrrrry busy week. Enjoy it, whatever you do!
[...] New Moon! Yes, today marks a new moon and as I mentioned yesterday, it is also a chance at new beginnings. (For more on what the this new moon in Taurus means, see [...]
YOU are my sunshine!
Michelle- have yet to visit live. Have heard great things so will soon have to make the field trip over there.
Julia, gettinggreen- All will be revealed tomorrow!
Ricki- I do have to try live. I should coordinate a Toronto health/nutrition bloggers outing to Live. That would be so much fun!
Earthmother- I have never thought of moon bathing. Will definitely try that in the summer when I am up North at my family cottage. Also- I do have something very special planned. There is a new special someone in my life and we happen to have the same birthday. And today is our half birthday- we are hopping on our bikes and heading to the Island just off of Toronto for a little arts celebration and in the city- city escape.
