I am loving this game and all your creative guesses.

In the event that you missed the first two rounds- here they are:

Guess The Ingredient List # 1
Guess The Ingredient List # 2

I also think this might be a good time to answer the age old questions of What Is Food?

Once again, you are playing for a bag of My Favourite Granola- this time in your choice of  Toasted or Raw.

This list reads like a bit of a chemistry experiment to me. I am interested to see what you come up with.

soy rice crisp made from soy protein isolate, rice flour, organic organic roasted soybeans, oats, organic soy flour, and organic milled flaxseed), brown rice syrup, coating- organic evaporated cane juice, fractionated palm kernel oil, cocoa, inulin, soy lecithin, natural vanilla, vegetable glycerin, marshmallow flavoured nuggets made from organic evaporated cane juice, cocoa butter, oat fibre, oat flour, fructose, natural flavours, gum arabic, and soy lecithin, rice flour, natural flavours, sea salt, green tea extract, vitamins and minerals (calcium carbonate, dicalcium phosphate, magnesium oxide, ascorbic acid, alpha-tocopherol acetate, ferrous fumarate, molybdenum glycinate, biotin, beta carotene, riboflavin, calcium pantothenate, zinc oxide, selenium, thiamin, niacin , chromium, phytonadione, manganese, pyridoxine, cupric oxide, folic acid, cyanocobalamin, potassium iodide). Note: contains soy, may contain traces of peanuts, nuts, and dairy.

Answers will be accepted until Monday (April 13th). Good luck, and you can have an extra guess if you tell me what aisle of the supermarket I might find phytonadione, thinking that might be my new favourite food (does sarcasm come across here?)

As I await the final packing for sale of the granola, a waiting list is building. If you are interested in being added- leave a comment or email me and I will send you size options, prices and shipping/pick-up details.

Green Smoothie Group Cleanse April 19th!- Details coming this week!
Spring is springing and to celebrate, I would like to invite you to join me on a three day health adventure (no, you don’t need to go anywhere). Starting Sunday, April 19th, I will be starting a three day, green smoothie cleanse. Yes, just three days and it will be power packed with nutrient dense goodness. It will start on a Sunday to give you time to ease in. As it is a smoothie cleanse rather than a juice cleanse, you won’t experience the same kind of hunger. Over the next two weeks, I will be offering more information on green smoothie cleansing. This is an easy and well supported introduction to cleansing, using whole foods. Hope you’ll join me!

  1. Christy says:

I would have to guess a Cliff bar or Luna bar by Cliff. No idea of the specific type but I pretty sure I picked up one of these a couple weeks ago mislead by the “60% organic ingredients” or something like that got it home and thought I had eaten someones science 250 calorie science experiment. I really didn’t expect something that claimed to be organic to have soooo many ingredients.

  2. Ricki says:

The only item on which I’ve ever seen such a long ingredient list is a Cliff bar (which, I see, has already been guessed!). How about some other kind of energy/protein bar?

  3. Diann says:

Thanks for your nice comment on my blog! I LOVE your blog! And I’m very interested in the cleanse. I’ll be sure to come back for previews.

  4. sara says:

It looks like a Luna Smores Bar to me.

  5. Coconutgal says:

Yes this has got to be a bar. I’m guessing a Luna bar… and the “marshmallow flavoured nuggets” makes me think it’s the Smores flavor. I think there is a Smore flavor? I’ll check tomorrow at the store….
What is a flavored nugget anyway? I didn’t even know “nuggets” were considered food?! :-D

  6. Laurie says:

The marshmallow nuggets combined with the soy ingredients make me think this is a faux-healthful cereal. Is there an organic version of Count Chocula?

I love that soy is mentioned 6 times in the list, yet the manufacturer still feels the need to state that the product “contains soy”.

  7. Betsy says:

My guess is a Clif Luna Bar or a Bellybar!

  8. Not that my answer counts anymore, but I too was going to suggest the S’mores Luna bar.
I tried one at the Yoga show this weekend. It was tasty.

I don’t need the prize anyway. Eventually we’ll do a granola trade.

  9. michelle says:

    luna bar smores

  10. Teresa says:

Definitely a smore’s bar, and it fits to be a Luna bar. But I guess people already figured that out.

  11. Debi says:

As for the mystery product — it seems as though many people have guessed it already. But regarding the “phytonadione” question; I’ve found out that phytonadione is a lab-synthesized form of vitamin K. (I love these ‘contests’ ’cause they force me to relearn the scientific names of all the vitamins! :p) This form is used in Luna bars, and also fed to elephants in captivity, apparently. (http://elephantcare.org/Drugs/phytona.htm) Weird. But onto your question — while it would be hard to find phytonadione in a grocery store, I would head straight to the fruits and veggies section if I wanted super-bioavailable vitamin K!! Leafy greens such as spinach and kale are great sources, as are avocados and kiwifruits. Parsley is also an excellent source (http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=100), making Passover a great time to load up on this vitamin. :) And on that note…Chag Sameach, Meghan. And thank you so much for the granola — it arrived today and it is YUMMY!
