As a nutritionist, I likely think about food more than the average person. Shopping at my neighbourhood farmer’s market all summer had me thinking about where my food actually comes from. Ever wondered this? Yes, I know most of us get our food from the supermarket or the local market, but have you ever stopped to think about where it actually comes from? Have you ever though about the soil? The seeds? The farmers?
This line of thinking landed me a week long stint working alongside the farmers at Everdale Farm. I had all my questions answered and then some. After a week of waking up at 5:00am and working until 5:00pm, I will never look at kale the same way again.
